Tandems, Limited offers a wide selection of tandems, tandem parts, and tandem accessories. We don't sell standard upright, singles (okay, we do now sell recumbents, both tandems and singles, but those are neat, off-the-wall bikes!)
Not sure if tandeming or 'bents are right for you? Give us a call, drop us an e-mail, and plan a trip to Birmingham. Please check our shop schedule first to make sure we're not out of town at a rally. We keep a large selection of tandems and recumbents set up and ready for test rides, and we have a great place for you to learn how to ride. We don't just turn you loose in a parking lot, we take the time to teach you how to get started, what to look for when riding. We tell you some of the tandem secrets that have taken other teams years to learn on their own. All of this helps make that first tandem (or recumbent) ride a pleasurable one.
If you're coming in from out of town, you may want to spend the night in the area. We recommend the Comfort Inn & Suites -- Colonnades (205-439-5300 or 205-968-3700), a nearby hotel that's offering a great rate to our out-of-town visitors. Ask for the Tandems, Ltd rate when you make your reservation to receive the rate, and remind them when you check in that you're visiting Tandems, Ltd. The Comfort Inn & Suites is the nearest hotel to our shop and is located at the intersection of I-459 & US280 on Colonnade Parkway. It's only 2.5 miles from the Comfort Inn to Tandems, Ltd.
If you're looking for a part for your tandem or recumbent, give us a call or drop us an e-mail! We probably have something in stock that will fit your tandem or recumbent. (If it's for a standard, upright single bike, contact your local bicycle shop first. If they can't help you, then try us. We don't stock many single bike parts, but we do have resources to find a lot.)
While we believe we have assembled the best selection of production tandems available for you to purchase, we realize that some teams cannot fit into any production tandem comfortably. Other teams need a triplet or even a quad (4-place bicycle) for their families. At Tandems, Limited, we gladly offer our combined 50+ years of experience to help you design YOUR dream tandem, triplet, or quad. We will help you with each step of the process, from designing your tandem, to selecting just the right components, to choosing the appropriate way to set it up. Heck, we'll even suggest the color scheme if you want. We'll serve as the interface between you and one of the expert frame-builders we prepresent to ensure that no detail is overlooked. When your tandem, triplet, or quad is ready, we'll assemble it with loving care so that your first ride is truly one to remember.
